Hello Bitches! Just got off a 14-hour flight from New York to Seoul. It’s dumping snow here in fellow blogger Tara Popp’s neck of the woods. Have a few more hours to kill before my flight to South East Asia (where I am sure I won’t see any snow).
Ok the reason why I am blogging is that I am in heaven now and I need to share my heavenly experience with everyone. Yes I am not bitching about anything this time. This sheer niceness will probably last for 2 hours so enjoy it while you can. Anyway I had mentioned before in my post that Singapore Airlines was one of my favorite Asian airlines. The other one is Asiana Airlines. The inflight experience that I just had from this long haul flight on Asiana affirms my choice of this Korean airline as one of my two favorite Asian airlines.
I was fortunate enough to fly first class this time and boy, it was such an experience. From the seat (that turns into a bed) to the inflight service, I think Asiana is giving Singapore Airline a run for its money. The inflight service was attentive, courteous yet not intrusive. The food was delicious. I had the “Royal Korean Meal” consisting of bibimbap and a bunch of small dishes, with caviar to start. Darn! I don’t get to fly first class often so I need to start buying the lottery ticket everyday now. I can definitely get used to this.
Having flown the crappy US airlines all the time, we, the abused US airline passengers, tend to have this guilt when we fly with Asian airlines and receive great inflight service. We cannot be blamed for feeling guilty since we are not used to getting such great service. When I fly US airlines, I would consider myself lucky if the hips of one of the matronly flight attendants did not hit me as she walked down the aisle. I would not even count on getting any decent service from these bitches.
I have also flown economy and business class with Asiana Airlines and the inflight service has always been impeccable regardless of the class of service. So check this airline out the next time you head to Asia. Tell them Andrew sent you. On second thought, maybe not. They probably know me as the annoying passenger who asked for food every two hours. My name will not get you very far.
